Do you take insurance? Can I seek reimbursement from my insurance for your services?

Unfortunately, parent coaching differs from counseling as we do not make medical diagnoses and is ineligible for insurance coverage. Several clients have had luck using their Flexible Spending Cards and HSA - please check with your individual provider.

Are parent coaching and counseling the same thing? 

While both counseling and parent coaching share the goal of improving the dynamic and functioning of the child and family as a unit, there are many key differences. Parent coaching is solutions driven rather than emotionally focused. Our time and attention will be spent finding tangible ways to help bring about positive changes in your child’s behavioral, social-emotional, and/or educational functioning rather than delving into the past as might be done in a more clinical setting.

If my child’s behavior is the issue, would it make more sense for you to coach my child instead of me?

Because you know your child best and can provide daily, consistent implementation of behavioral and/or educational interventions, we believe that with the right tools and coaching, you have the potential to make the biggest impact on your child. There are certain situations in which professional mental health or educational services might be a better fit and with our background in mental health and early childhood education, we can successfully identify these particular cases and provide referrals to appropriate specialists as necessary.

Great, you're all set! The Laurens will be in touch via either the email address or phone number provided at checkout within 24 business hours to schedule an appointment.

How do I sign up for support groups?

Under navigation from our home page, choose "Group Services". There you will be able to see groups that are currently being offered. There is not an option to buy a group service immediately as there is with individual services because a minimum of 5 participants is needed. If you are interested in joining one of the groups, simply email us through the "Contact Us" page and let us know which group you would like to join. Once we have enough participants interested, we will reach out to determine a mutually agreed upon time and location to meet and payment through the site will be enabled. 

Where do sessions take place? Is there a virtual option?

We are happy to meet with you in person or virtually. For individual in person meetings, we are available to meet outdoors or masked indoors at either your home or a local coffee shop. All groups and seminars will meet in rented meeting spaces with masks required for all participants. Virtual options via Zoom -- please note that this is not a secure platform.
